Masa
Margashirsha Masa Meaning
Margashirsha is the 9th month of the Hindu lunar calendar, usually falling in November-December during Hemanta (pre-winter). Important observances include Vivah Panchami and Mokshada Ekadashi (Gita Jayanti). In the amanta system the month ends on Amavasya; in the purnimanta system used in much of North India it ends on Purnima, so Krishna Paksha dates carry the next month's name.
