Masa
Bhadrapada Masa Meaning
Bhadrapada is the 6th month of the Hindu lunar calendar, usually falling in August-September during Varsha (monsoon). Important observances include Hartalika Teej, Ganesh Chaturthi, Anant Chaturdashi and Pitru Paksha. In the amanta system the month ends on Amavasya; in the purnimanta system used in much of North India it ends on Purnima, so Krishna Paksha dates carry the next month's name.
