Masa

Ashwina Masa Meaning

Ashwina is the 7th month of the Hindu lunar calendar, usually falling in September-October during Sharad (autumn). Important observances include Shardiya Navratri, Dussehra, Sharad Purnima, Karwa Chauth, Dhanteras and Diwali. In the amanta system the month ends on Amavasya; in the purnimanta system used in much of North India it ends on Purnima, so Krishna Paksha dates carry the next month's name.
