Masa

Ashadha Masa Meaning

Ashadha is the 4th month of the Hindu lunar calendar, usually falling in June-July during Grishma (summer). Important observances include Rath Yatra, Devshayani Ekadashi, the start of Chaturmas, and Guru Purnima. In the amanta system the month ends on Amavasya; in the purnimanta system used in much of North India it ends on Purnima, so Krishna Paksha dates carry the next month's name.
