Masa
Magha Masa Meaning
Magha is the 11th month of the Hindu lunar calendar, usually falling in January-February during Shishira (winter). Important observances include Vasant Panchami, Magh Mela snan and Maha Shivaratri. In the amanta system the month ends on Amavasya; in the purnimanta system used in much of North India it ends on Purnima, so Krishna Paksha dates carry the next month's name.
