Masa
Kartika Masa Meaning
Kartika is the 8th month of the Hindu lunar calendar, usually falling in October-November during Sharad (autumn). Important observances include Govardhan Puja, Bhai Dooj, Chhath, Devutthana Ekadashi, Tulsi Vivah and Kartik Purnima. In the amanta system the month ends on Amavasya; in the purnimanta system used in much of North India it ends on Purnima, so Krishna Paksha dates carry the next month's name.
