Tulsi Vivah 2027 date on Kartika Shukla Dwadashi, tithi timings, the link with Devutthana Ekadashi, and how the ceremony is performed.
Tulsi Vivah is the ceremonial marriage of the Tulsi plant with Shaligram or Krishna. It is performed on Kartika Shukla Dwadashi, the day after Devutthana Ekadashi, and it opens the Hindu wedding season after Chaturmas.
Some families perform it on Ekadashi itself, and some on any day from Ekadashi to Kartik Purnima. The date below is Dwadashi at sunrise in Delhi.
How Tulsi Vivah Is Performed
The Tulsi plant is dressed as a bride with a red chunari and bangles, a mandap of sugarcane is built around it, and Shaligram is placed beside it as the groom. The ceremony follows a wedding sequence with kanyadaan, pheras and mangal aarti, and prasad is shared afterwards.
Dates and times are calculated with Swiss Ephemeris (Lahiri ayanamsa) for the place stated on this page. See our methodology.
