Rashi
Karka Rashi Meaning
Karka rashi (Cancer) spans 90° to 120° of the sidereal zodiac. Its symbol is the crab, its ruling planet is the Moon (Chandra), and it is a water sign. It covers the last pada of Punarvasu, Pushya and Ashlesha. In panchang, the Moon's rashi gives the daily Chandra rashi, and the Sun's entry into Karka is Karka Sankranti.
In Simple Terms
Karka Rashi is Cancer, the 4th sign of the sidereal zodiac. Its exact use depends on the wider panchang context: tithi, nakshatra, yoga, karana, vaara, and local sunrise.
